Liverpool could complete a great January transfer window and finish their offensive overhaul by adding Kevin Gameiro to their squad.
Tony Barrett of The Times reported the Reds are lining up a loan move for the Frenchman.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward is a hot commodity in the transfer market during the window, as he's second in scoring for the French side behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic. His ability to notch goals despite being squished in the middle of a talented squad is what will make him stand out in England.
The 25-year-old is an able scorer, notching 29 goals in just 60 appearances with PSG.
Liverpool have already bolstered their scoring attack, as they just completed a transfer of Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea.
The Reds' newest addition will be a nice complement to Luis Suarez, who's practically been heading the offensive attack by himself since his arrival at Anfield. He has 15 Premier League goals, and the next highest scorer has just four.
With Sturridge and the potential addition of Gameiro, Liverpool would finally be able to stand up against the Premier League giants and their multi-faceted attacks.
Just having one or two offensive weapons isn't enough to get it done in the EPL. You have to be able to bring goal-scorers off the bench in the final stretches of matches to bring in some fresh legs and goal-scoring ability.
The Reds have been able to bring in solid transfer market options, but they have rarely lived up to the hype. With Gameiro, you know you're getting quality.
Nuri Sahin is going to be gone soon and back to Real Madrid from his loan, and Liverpool will be desperate to find an improvement to bolster their offensive attack, asSahin hasn't been effective in his time in England. He's only scored once.
Liverpool have been big spenders in recent years, so they might not be able to bringGameiro in permanently. And with the upcoming task of replacing Steven Gerrard, they'll need as much cash as possible.
So why not acquire Gameiro on a loan? If they pay the right price, PSG should be swayed as they have plenty of talent to replace him on a short-term basis.
